"Skippy" 18 yr. miniature pony |
| |
| History - |
8 mo. history of abnormal chewing. Chewing has become progressively worse over the past month. Pony was recently treated for colic as the result of an impaction. Pony is very reluctant to eat. |
| |
| Exam - |
Pony has severe ramps of 306 & 406. (2nd lower premolars)
(see photo 1).

| Treatment - |
Two stage reduction of ramps at 6 mo. intervals. (see photo 3)
photo 3
This pony's unwillingness to eat and colic were both a result of inadequate dental care. The more these ramps grew the harder and more painful it was to eat. Dramatic improvement was seen immediately after reduction.
